I brought my car to the shop for three issues: it was shutting down, had an engine oil leak, and needed brake repairs. Throughout the process, they kept me informed about the work being done and the associated costs. I ended up paying over $600, only to be told that they couldn't identify why the car was shutting down. They claimed they had to clean the engine oil to find the problem, but they still couldn't pinpoint it. Additionally, they fixed the brakes.
When they notified me that my car was ready for pickup, I discovered that the steering wheel was extremely hard to turn, making it impossible to drive. They had damaged the steering wheel rack, causing a leak. Shockingly, they refused to take responsibility and insisted that the steering wheel rack was already broken when I brought in the car. This is untrue, as the steering wheel was fine; I had initially brought the car in for an engine oil leak, not a steering wheel issue.
To make matters worse, they provided no solution or offer to tow my car home. The issue with the damaged steering wheel was not communicated to me before I went to pick up my car. This entire experience was terrible, and I will never go back to this shop again. Very disappointed with the dishonesty.
The customer took the vehicle to their "trusted mechanic". He told us the work we completed was done correctly and was not related to the steering concern. He also stated that this customer carries fluids in the trunk to top-up the steering and brakes so they must have known. They also had brake pads and a code reader for the computer.
The vehicle was road tested and did not cut out or have fault codes.
We quoted for a replacement steering rack, but they refused and said they were selling the vehicle.
People that leave negative reviews should be required to identify themselves so future businesses can be warned.
